One way to keep the barbecue island and the bar island all the same height and yet give the bartender the sense that he is standing at a 42 inch height is to actually lower the floor. It’s a trick or technique that we use at Outdoor Living where you can add your six inches on the inside using regular chairs on the outside to give you more of a variety of chairs and the bar feel that you are looking to achieve. Always remember, if possible, build in plenty of storage, a refrigerator and an ice machine.
