Here we are in South Florida again with another custom outdoor pergola. What makes a great outdoor pergola? That’s a great question, one of the things you want to do is make sure it fits in with your current environment. As you can see around here it’s a very mediterranean home. What we did here is we wanted to give contrast to the flooring and to the house, so we pre-stained the beams, heavy dark wood which are really going to pop against the columns. All we have to do is set the capitols and we’ll be done. Check out how you get the additional shade, we finished off the top by using 3x6s that really give it that strong heavy look.
